my movie night-out eotd...

'twas a gloomy Wednesday...and wasn't supposed to come in to work, if not for the opening of Transformers 2! woot!

i've been looking forward to seeing this movie and i must say, i'm a lil bit disappointed. it wasn't as good as i have expected it...i like the first movie better. ooppps, transformers fanatics please don't hate me :)

anyways, i've decided to wear something dark that day...and pair it with an even darker blouse. actually, most of my office clothes are black...that's why. and i think you probably know why...wink!

MAC Henna, Humid and Carbon

geesh, my hair's getting long...i want to get a hair cut so badly, but it's been more than 5 yrs of having a short 'do.

what do you think? should i cut it or grow it longer?

and finally, some loots:

all for Php1200+. great deal on these two items above...i mean, four!

Product Review: MakeUp Forever Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector

Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector

What it is: A waterproof eyebrow defining cream in a tube.

What it is formulated to do: Fills, defines, and intensifies brows with natural-looking, stay-put color.

What else you need to know: The result remains flawless throughout the day and holds up under all conditions (water, heat, etc).

Size: 0.16 oz

Use very sparingly. Apply then blend with slanted Eyebrow Brush to obtain a very natural line. For very precise corrections, use a very fine-tipped brush, such as Eyeliner Brush.

Professional Tips: To change the color of your lashes, brush them with a mascara brush or lash comb soaked in Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector. It is also perfect for coloring graying sideburns and moustaches.

For quite a long time now, i've been using my HG brow gel from MAC...MAC brow set in Girl Boy. I use it on top of my brow powder...and it does give me that light brown color on my brows which is near to my hair color. But the extra time to line my brows using a brow powder and then topping it off with my brow set takes up time to do. So, if i can find a way to do both would be great. :)

I first heard about this corrector from Sophie and since then, i've wanted to get my hands on this product. Good thing Jamie offered to get this for me at a discounted price...woot! And eversince i started using this, there's no going back to my usual brow routine.

what i love:
  • easy to use. I use this either with my Suesh angled liner brush or my MAC 266 brush. For starters, this may take a bit of practice before getting the breeze of using it. you have to wipe it off immediately just in case you got it wrong for it dries up easily. and once it dries, you would have to use a makeup remover :)
  • stays put the whole day! this is waterproof and sweatproof. i had the mistake of scratching my brows the other day and i nearly cried when i remembered about my brows. i got my mirror and checked it..it's still on! WHEW
  • a little goes a long way. All you need is a small amount (check Swatch 1 on my pics above) for one brow. This tube would last me months, even when used everyday!
  • Reasonable priced. It sells for Php1100++ and though it's more expensive than my MAC brow set, i won't need to use any brow powder anymore. the price of the brow set plus my brow powder would cost me almost P2000. so this one is really cost-efficient!
  • no allergies. i've used some brow mascaras before and it did give me some itching on my brows.
  • no funky smell.
  • gives me natural looking brows...hmm, at least close to my hair color.

what i hate:

I'll be getting the other shades so i can use it on my clients too. This is really nice for those who wants to make sure that they dont lose their brows while they are out :)

Tutorial: Neutrals using loose minerals...

I've been neglecting the very first reason why i fell inlove with makeup...my mineral loose eyeshadows! So, for this tutorial, i used my MAD and MEOW mineral eyeshadows.

1. MAD Sand Dune
2. MEOW Modern Eyes in Fur Flyin'
3. MAC e/s in Espresso

1. Start with priming your eyelids. I've been using my Too Faced Shadow Insurance topped with MAC paintpot in Soft Ochre and it works just like my UDPP :)

2. Using a flat shader brush (MAC 239), pat MAD e/s in Sand Dune on the lid slightly passing above the crease. Then using a big blender brush, gently sweep the color to get rid of the harsh lines.

3. Using a medium blending brush (MAC 217), apply MEOW e/s in Fur Flyin' on the outer-V. Blend this with your first lid color.

4. Using a much smaller blending brush, intensify the outer-V by applying MAC Espresso on top of the MEOW e/s. Blend, Blend, Blend!

5. Using a bigger flat shader brush, apply MAC Shroom for highlight. Gently sweep using a big blending brush to blend with the lid color.

6. Line your upper lashlines with MAC Fluidline in Dipdown, a white eyeliner on the lower waterlines and Revlon Colorstay in Black on the upper lashlines. Smudge the lower lashlines with MAC Espresso. This will prevent the white eyeliner from slipping.

7. Curl lashes and apply coats of mascara.

...and the finished look:

IT has come!

finally, my new phone has arrived!

* image from Inquirer.net
The Nokia N97, now tagged as the Finnish company's flagship mobile computer, has been released last week June 19, 2009 at Shangrila Makati during Globe Platinum's party. I was there to do makeup for their models, and while waiting for them to arrive, I had the chance to see and have my hands on this ohhh-some phone! I immediately fell in love that I almost threw my darn Samsung Omnia out of the hotel window. LOL!

I think i've posted here the story of me losing my 2-month old Nokia E71 last December...and the lack of a better option for a new phone made me get Omnia. and i tell you, I so hate it! I've wanted to stick with Nokia because of it's user-friendliness, but their newest model at that time was still the E71 and i wouldn't want to prolong the agony of remembering my old phone by getting the same model so i got the Omnia instead. And i still regret it until this day.

But now that N97 is out, I think i'll be having a new phone again!

(nah, that's just me wishful thinking LOL)

I don't think I can afford to get myself a new phone soon. So i guess, I'm stucked with my Omnia for quite a few more months...ugh!

So what does this phone has to offer?

  • it's the first from Nokia to feature a personalized home screen, so you can customize widgets to bring live information to your phone. These widgets can be Facebook (yep, FACEBOOK!), Hi5, news services, shopping and other information
  • It has 32GB internal memory (WHOA!) and can even expand up to 48GB thru a microSD card. Now, that means more camwhoring, baby!
  • It has 5MP camera with integrated Carl Zeiss optics. woot! woot!
  • A slide-out (now, this is something which i don't really like...but i guess it would be okay) QWERTY keypad

complete specs here.

and yeah, i am literally drooling!

Priced at Php34500 (and i got my Omnia for 35k...arrgggh!), it's now available locally.

Geeshhhh...i WANT!

too bad, my birthday has been months ago and Xmas isn't around the corner...

Playing with makeup...take 3!

'twas a Friday night, and got nothing else to do...so here's what i was able to come up with from playing again with my makeup.

for this looks, i used my Ben Nye eyeshadow palette....i hope you like it!

Summer gig...

i did this gig months ago, and haven't had the chance to post the pictures. but it's better late than never, right!?

Aki Morita

Luisa Beltran

Swimwear collection is available at 100Girl.

Thanks to my models, Aki Morita and Luisa Beltran for letting me doll them up for this shoot. And to the photographers: Alric Mondragon, Dino Gervasio and Miggy Mondragon.

and of course, to the lady behind this shoot....thanks for trusting me to do this with you.
Til next time!

playing with my new 4U2 palette...

i initially thought of coming up with a review on this palette, but it turned out that i already posted one months ago. stupid me forgot about it!

so let me just show you a look i came up with using my new palette...the first one i got was more of a colorful palette and my second one would be a palette of neutrals. (what!? not again...)
colors used:

(yeah, just another boring neutral looks!)
so now, i have two of their palettes:

i still do wish they come up with a matte palette. i have way too many shimmery eyeshadows and it would be nice to have more mattes.
again, i do recommend getting these palettes for they are affordable and they work as great as those high-end ones. they are a good collection to start up with if you are on a budget and need a palette of colors to come up with a lot of looks.
