A few weeks ago, Mr. X and I celebrated our 6th year wedding anniversary. If you don't know it yet, we've been together for 16 years before we decided to get married and so in total, we've been stuck with each other for almost 22 years. Hahaha! We've been together for so long we can no longer think of what else to do for our anniversary. We've had dinners, watched movies, went out of town or sometimes, we just spend it at home watching movies all day and eat home-cooked meals.
Weeks before our anniversary, I initially thought of just buying him a gift. He's into playing basketball again so I thought, I'd buy him a good pair of rubber shoes. And then I realized, he has a lot already! Geeesh, after being together for so long I am running out of ideas of what to give him. Hahaha! And so I thought, why not treat him to a weekend staycation in a good hotel? You know my husband, he's not buying the idea of staying in hotels. He would rather spend money on something else than to spend it in a hotel because according to him, staying in a hotel is just like staying in your own home. So why spend money? (roll eyes) In my case, I love staying in hotels because I feel so well taken care of and pampered. And who wouldn't like that? So I just knew that I need to change his perspective of hotels. I was in a hunt for a good hotel in Dubai, read reviews online and still couldn't decide. Good thing my friend Sheila recommended Dusit Thani. She got to stay in the hotel weeks ago and she absolutely loved it. She told me she'd happily recommend it to anybody who would be looking for a nice hotel to stay. She, together with Ms. Danelle, helped me with the reservations. She also suggested to get the Club Room which comes with access to the Executive Lounge, plus a whole lot of perks. And I did. Our anniversary happens only once in a year and so it deserves a bit more something special.
We booked the hotel for 3D2N (Thanks to Sheila for giving me a voucher from The Entertainer so I only paid for one night) and we arrived at the hotel almost 3 hrs late from the usual check-in time. Hahahaa, pati sa hotel late pa din!? Anyhoo, we went straight to the reception at the lobby but after seeing my reservation in the system, they assisted us immediately to the 34th floor for check-in. For Club Room guests, they provide private and priority check-ins right outside the Executive Lounge. Danelle was even there to say Hi and she escorted us all the way to the 34th floor.

Our room was just a floor above the Executive Lounge. When we came in, everything inside just left me in awe. Take a look at the photos to see why:
I was like "Awwwww!" when I saw the bed.
And of course, the bed deserves a good photo:
The husband who went straight to this corner and sat like a boss!
Complimentary teas and coffee
Oh yes, that's an Intimacy Kit up there!
Aside from the "towel cake" on our bed, they also gave us this:
This gesture is definitely heartwarming!
Right after seeing the cake, I told my husband, "Stay away from this cake, we'll eat this at the stroke of midnight tonight." LOL.
Aside from the bed, I am usually excited with the bathroom. And so after taking (a LOT of) photos in the bedroom, I went to check the bathroom next:
Woohoo, there's a tub!
Just imagine how relaxing it is to be soaking in the tub while you get to watch TV as well.
Don't you just love it when the toilet is separated from the shower?
And just look at our view outside:
Is this breathtaking or what!?
We (I mean, I) snapped more photos inside the room then we decided to go to the Executive Lounge to enjoy some evening cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. And that my friends is one of the perks from booking a Club Room!
Here's a complete list of the inclusions when you book a Club Room:
Private check-in and check-out: In Room / Club Lounge
Exclusive Breakfast at the Dusit Club Lounge from 06:30 – 10:30
All day refreshments served at the Dusit Club Lounge from 06:30 – 23:00
Evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 18:00 – 20:00
Complimentary pressing of 3 pieces of garments upon arrival
Computer stations with broadband internet connection in the Dusit Club Lounge
In-room iPod docking stations available upon request
Use of the Club Lounge Boardroom for 2 hours per day (subject to availability)
Luxury high thread count linen and premium bathroom amenities
Daily replenishment of fresh fruits in room
Selection of daily international and local newspapers and magazines
Pickup or Drop-off to Dubai International Airport Terminals 1 or 3
Complimentary local landline calls
The Club Room is a few hundreds more than their usual rooms but I can say that it's definitely worth it. From the room itself, to the quality of the food in the Lounge up to the people who have been so warm and accommodating all the time. Even my husband says so!
Two levels up from the Executive Lounge is the Top Deck where you can find the mini gym and the pool:
I'd like to wake up to mornings like this every day.
Goofing with the hubby at the lobby
This hotel stay was my treat for him and I am happy that he liked it. He did come to realize that it can be refreshing and rejuvenating to stay in a hotel from time to time, just so you won't have to worry about cleaning, cooking, etc. I asked him if we can try to do hotel staycations at least once a month and he said yes. Yay!
Like me, he's also running out of ideas what to give me.
And so he gave me this:
Overall, we really enjoyed staying at Dusit Thani Dubai. Everything has just been so perfect from day 1 until we checked out. We've also tried the hotel's Seafood Night and their Friday Brunch, but I'd share that to you on separate posts. We also tried Namm Spa, and OMG, you definitely need to check them out. Their massage is sooooo good! I'd tell you more about it on another post as well.
By the way, Dusit Thani Dubai has recently partnered with Hotel Tonight, a mobile app that let's you book a hotel in the last minute and still get to enjoy great deals and promotions. Their rates are also exclusive to the app, and from what I've checked, theirs is a lot better from what you can get online or from the hotel itself. They are also having this promotion of 15% off on your first booking via the app with the promocode HELLODUBAI. So check it out!
Thanks again to Dusit Thani Dubai for welcoming us and making sure that me and my husband get to have a great time. You've all been so warm, some would even greet us a Happy Anniversary when they see us! Also, whenever they would see us they would ask if there's anything we need. A great customer service is indeed worth going back to so as early as now, I'm saying that we will definitely be going back to Dusit Thani.
